Career Mentorship App for people with disabilities
Career4u is a company that gives people a platform for professional career mentorship. The organization needs a tool that helps its users with accessibility navigate its platform.
Career4u’s primary target includes high school graduates, college graduates, and people with disabilities, helping them choose the right career path for them via our mentors.

My Role
Design an app that will help people with disabilities find mentors and the right career path.
The goal
Design an app that will help people with disabilities find mentors and the right career path.
Initial Design Concepts

Research
I used Career4u’s data on people within the age range 16-25 with disabilities to develop interview questions, which were then used to conduct user interviews. Most interview participants reported wanting to find mentorship but not having a one-stop platform specifically curated for them in terms of that.
The feedback received through research made it very clear that users would be open and willing to work towards receiving mentorship if they had access to an easy-to-use tool to help guide them.

What I learnt
I learned that even though the problem I was trying to solve was a big one, diligently going through each step of the design process and aligning with specific user needs helped me come up with solutions that were both feasible and useful.
Next Steps
Conduct research on how successful the app is in helping people with disabilities find an useful mentor.
